I have a spider twitch. It started when I was 16, the summer before my 17th bday. My father had re-landscaped the front of the house, changing old wood chips with lava rock. Wolf spiders love their territories and do not do well as a colony being shifted that much.

He was also, at the same time, re-doing our entire HVAC duct work. The cold air return was close to the front door. They moved in.

My father didn't believe me when I said they were coming out of the actual duct in my bedroom at night (closest to the front door.) I spent an entire summer month with a shoe in one hand, a flashlight in the other and my glasses on.

It took a few weeks, but they finally migrated down to the duct over his bed. He choked on one in the middle of a deep snore and the very next day, those ducts were getting ripped out and replaced. N'minding my spider gut splattered ceiling.

So... since then, I can hear them. Walking on a wall or any flat surface. If they are webbing, I can hear the web sing. I speak to them, especially if over my head. We make deals that they stay out of private spaces and from being over my head and they can stay. Cross that line, and they are gone.

I had a black widow spider as a friend at my old office. I loved to talk to her as she drank the dew off her web in the morning.

I have other animals I can call to me. It's an odd story and one more fit for in an person convo.
