If one pays attention to taste in music (and I do; I pay lots of attention to music in general), it becomes difficult to miss the fact tah tmy tatstes run about equally towards both overt, delerious, even silly happiness, and reflective melancholy, depressed, occasionally frustrated and angry sadness.

Curious that I tend to overlook the former impulse, though it's always been present in my aesthetics.
