Based on my own very limited, and very, very good, experience, I always thought DBAs were weird, but fundamentally cool, useful, and good people. This week, I have learned that they can also be lazy, incompetent, and/or utterly useless.

Heh, my old mentor used to tell me that all good DBA's are lazy ... otherwise, they'd have no reason to find ways of automating stuff!

Have you seen lazydba.com? It's only moderately useful, I think, but it has a good name...

Yeah, I have seen it! I agree that it's only moderately useful, but they get big points for such a clever name!
