late to the Party

(or, "You Got Your Social Justice Anti-Capitalism in my Deep Earth Ecology!")

I'm not sure of the link jumping, but I ended up reading about ecosocialism today, and I think that's the first time a political movement has really clicked with me. I mean, sure, I'm down with various flavors of post-Marxist political thought, but that's always been an intellectual, "that makes sense" sort of enterprise. And, sure, I've been environmentally engaged to varying degrees and through varying personal and group commitments for a couple of decades, but I never felt like I had traction. Today, at least right now, it feels like I do, and that's kind of cool.

Because subject positional modifiers are almost expected, I think I'm pretty strongly dark green inclined. I think I'd like to be able to embrace the faith of bright greens, but I really don't see technological changes fixing social problems, no matter that a lifetime of exposure to science fictional utopianism has encouraged that in me.
