The point isn't who said it, but rather that it is seen as "OK" for comments like that to be said to me, since it's "obvious" that I'm not serious, and that the "normal" rules of polite behavior don't apply to me, since I'm not of biologically "girl" class. I honestly don't think malice was intended, because really, how could I be offended, since I'm not a "girl"?

Nor am I likely to. The point for me is that this is a shining example of the double standard I can, and should, likely be prepared for; it's OK to many/most to say things to those you think are "boys" what you would never think of saying to those you think of as "girls". I should remember to not be so surprised that small minds don't easily bridge the gulf of gender expectation.

Thank you. It is hard for me to hear things like, "but you always look good" without finding a way to twist that around so that it can be seen as saying "you always look good" = "you always look the same/similar" = "you always look like a 'guy' ", but I do appreciate the sentiment.
