filtering

I'm making a filter, specifically for... not so much spiritual things, since I don't like the dualism so often implied by that usage, not metaphysical for similar (as well as philological) reasons, so for what? Loosely, then, connections/connectedness, beyond strict human definitions, what I tend to think of multiply as the world, "doing something", friends and extended family; to use the phrase I've come to like, invisible stuff. If you'd like to be on it, let me know. You're welcome to ask questions, though I'm not at all sure I'll have answers.

I intend "...and o(O)ther" to be a kind of joke as well as reclamation. I get so damned angry when people who say they speak for me (lgbtqwtfbbq) enumerate who they mean to include, and I only ever fall into "and others" (Feinberg, I'm looking at you here). Too, it's a nod to the lingering structuralism in the postmod/poststructural awareness of the Other and the role it serves in definitional structures and reinforcing via exclusion. I find it ironic that the allegedly necessary structural role feels like where I live all too often, and yeah, it pisses me off. I'm trying to learn to laugh about it some, too.
