a phrase I should remember
...the unreality of the office
Came to mind Monday, as my "migraine" was making it clear it would not leave or be bought off this time. As soon as I stepped outside, I felt better, then felt guilty for not being able to suck it up and push on through. When I was thinking about why I had to leave, and why getting somewhere else would make it better, that's the phrase that answered me. I think it goes beyond my need for visceral input when my brain is off, though that's still vitally important. It seems to be a deeper, different issue, one about which I don't know what to do.
