2009, in a lot of ways, has the weight of a year like 2004: something of loss, something to get over, something from which good (or at least instruction) can come, but nothing, ever, to be repeated.

There were good things, but it's been a hard, hard year. Here's to looking forward to something different, if not actually better.

Hmm you're right, it does have a lot of the same feel of 2004. A year of magic and loss. I should play some Lou Reed on NYE.
