What do you learn from the first card, that which represents the past?
7 OF MUSIC - FANCIES
[To Me This World is all One continued Vision of Fancy or Imagination]
Inspired by a range of opportunities and ideas. Expressive challenges involving dreams and daydreams, or altered states of consciousness. Emotional confusion or indecision. Overwhelmed by contradictory feelings. Delusions. A retreat into fantasy. Temptations or bribes. Illusory goals. Challenges of immediate versus long-term gratification.
In the creative process: Let your visions and dreams lead the way into deeper realms of your imagination, and be prepared to express them. Rehearse and explore wild ideas in your mind before acting on them.
What do you learn from the second card, that which represents the present?
5 OF MUSIC - MELANCHOLY
[Whatever is Born of Mortal Birth/Must be consumed with the Earth To rise from Generation free:/Then what have I to do with thee?]
Emotional disappointment. Existential angst. Spiritual insights following a sad event. Separating and moving on. Sadness, loss, grieving. Buried hopes. acknowledging your mistakes. Releasing ties and attachments from the past. Letdown after intense effort.
In the creative process: Seek to transform your emotional pain into artistic gain by expressing what you feel and what you have learned from personal experience.

MAN OF POETRY
[To justify the ways of God to Man]
Shedding of protections and pretenses. Clearing away darkness to boldly reveal the truth. Applying foresight and generosity of spirit to challenging circumstances. Overcoming your ego to act as a master of spiritual expression.. Taking the authority to assert how things will be done. Possessing mature and well-tested vision, but a tendency to be rigid.
In the creative process: When you see the whole picture of your project, you can take charge to boldly direct it toward achieving its divine potential.
