Driving in to work today, I saw what looked like a perfectly healthy, medium sized pine tree by the side of the highway suddenly get taken down by a backhoe, and it almost made me cry.

I know you struggle hard against being assigned as one of them. I think I do a pretty good job of understanding and supporting you in this. But recently, in your celebration of not-being-them-ness, you very casually and unkindly assigned me to the class of them. If it's not good for you, what the hell makes you think it's good for me? So, really... thanks, a lot.
