baiku no shitsumon
Oct. 3rd, 2005 08:57 am1. What do you want to be when you grow up?
Happy, or if that's unrealistic, happier.
2. In a darkened, quiet room, can you concentrate and sense a smell for the colour blue? If so, can you describe it?
I'm not sure that it's darkened room specific, but varying shades of blue do have scents to me. One of my favorites is deep, electric blue that smells of ionization with a hint of moisture from far away.
3. If it were possible for you to instantly modify by fiat the society in which you live, what change(s) would you make?
I'd like human life to be more valuable than stuff.
I'd mandate environmental concerns to be a huge part of every aspect of production or manufacturing.
I'd institue a progressive income tax system with no loopholes; those who benefit most from the system, owe the system more, and selfishness is not virtuous.
Probably many more, but that's what comes to mind this morning.
4. Would you be willing to live in a society where sex and gender issues do not exist at all, but which is filled with hatred and disgust for any race other than yours?
No, absolutely not. It's unacceptable to swap my pain for the pain of others.
5. Everybody has issues, no exceptions. What are yours? (For extra points, only mention the ones that *don't* have anything to do with gender)
I am incredibly stubborn and painfully idealistic. These two often combine in such a way that I can't even begin to be pragmatic, as I can't see what is, being totally hung up on how things should be, ideally.
I am much, much kinder to others than to myself. I think my optimism is almost exclusively externally oriented, and my pessimism almost exclusively internally.
So, I guess I owe people questions. First come, first served.
Happy, or if that's unrealistic, happier.
