That's what I need. I kind of expected that, based on how it was behaving, but I knew it was a bad sign when the service account manager said, "I need to talk to you" rather than telling me what was wrong in the waiting area. Once I'd committed to the repair (over $1000) and said I needed to see about renting a car in the mean time, she said "I'll let you have one of mine, considering how much money you're spending here".

Jinkies.

But, it's cheaper than getting a new car, I have the savings to cover it, and I don't want to commit to four or five years of payments, especially since my company has just been bought.

Oh, yeah, and Ions are darned uncomfortable cars to drive if you're taller than average, and have longer than expected legs.
