I realized I've been strangely, almost superstitiously silent on how the Most Important Kitty in the World* is doing. Now that he's coming home tonight, it feels safe to talk about it more. He's got damaged kidneys, but he's got a lot of fight left in him; he certainly seems to want to stick around for quite a while longer, and I'm absolutely fine with that. We're going to have to treat him with subcutaneous saline injections to make sure there's enough fluid in his system, but it's a small price to pay for more happy kitty time. His satisfaction levels only seem to be growing, and based on how much more we're planning on spoiling him, I hope that continues to grow. He's not even trying to pretend that he doesn't take comfort from me, which is cute, but I expect his cool, suave facade to fall back into place in time. I'm cool with that.

Digby nails it today.

If abortion is murder, why don't anti-choicers support seeking the death penalty for women who get them? Why aren't there any cries making it illegal to transport a pregnant woman across state lines for the purposes to get an abortion?

Read Digby, who is a whole lot more focused and articulate on this and all matters.
