reinscription?

I've sort of gotten into the habit of writing things on my skin (specifically, my left forearm) in the past week and a half. It's always a conscious act, after the words bubble up from some part of my brain that's fertile, if erratic, and it seems reclamatory in some way, not of the words or concepts nearly so much as of my skin and my relationship with language at once, as though some part of my subconscious decided it had had enough of being a passively written object, choosing instead to be willfully self-authored.
