Mar. 20th, 2007 09:09 amBack in Frankfurt, apparently still alive. I spent almost all of yesterday sleeping, with a brief walk in the woods by the hotel and a break for dinner (a Chinese/Thai restaurant with menu only in Chinese and German is quite the challenge). Today it's clear, but cool, and I'm determined to get out, and to see things other than German woods, river and trees (though those are certainly beautiful enough for the visit).
Amsterdam was... interesting. I would have liked to experience it more unfiltered (or at best, filtered through my own personal lens). In retrospect, I should have stuck to my guns, and not been lured by the legally permissible and collectively engaged. I do know my own limits, I'm just not very good at listening to the voice that tries to remind me of them. It's a beautiful city, and the constant presence of the sea made me very happy. I would very much like to see it in summer, when things are even greener, the wind does not carry the cold, and maybe a little more of the athletic skin resultant from "the city of bicycles" might be exposed.
