(no subject)

I keep seeing figures out of the corner of my eye (and always when wearing a specific pair of glasses, but it's the same pair I've worn for years). Sometimes, in context it makes sense, and it rarely startles me, but I'm still surprised at times, wondering why the hell there's someone standing in my closet, or how someone can have walked so close on the forest path without me hearing. It's odd.

Kagerou: an electric manga. It's hard to describe, but compelling fantasy/memoir/mental illness/heroic journey with an almost inexplicable mix of playfulness and the morbid/macabre.

But the art... oh my god. It's probably some of the best use of color I've ever seen on the web, period. Seriously, seeing new pages fills me with something like aesthetic joy.

I read it intermittently, but it's a system that works, because when I come back to it, I want more than just a page at a time (and it's consistently erratic in update schedule). I'm just back to it and have chapters to read now. I'm trying to be good and stretch it out, but at heart I want to devour the pages and roll around in the shredded remains like some gluttonous demon.

it's been that kind of a week

Only Wednesday, and I've already contacted three senators and my federal representative, on top of emailing the president twice; only one of these contacts was a happy, positive show of support.
