Sep. 2nd, 2009 07:22 amStrange dream pieces about being in an alternate Athens, in an alternate part that didn't exist, in a small, weird but hip house. J and I had a guest in the second bedroom (complete with its own bath), some dude I didn't recognize (average height, light hair, bland in that thrift store indie way) in either the dream or waking life, but somehow seemed like he was supposed to be there. Some how, when it was time for J and I to shower, our casual nudity (like when we're alone) wasn't a big deal, just one of those things. I can't remember, but maybe the dude had this resigned expectation of showering with us? Not creepy, not sexual, more like it's just what one does; even in the dream, that seemed a little weird, but didn't break dream walls quite.
At another point, other people were there (sciencey types? my godbrother?). I'd turned on Nova and was surprised to see it was a special on extraterrestrials/UFOs. I was nervous, worried they'd do a stupid job of it, worried the folks around me would think it was stupid, and worried about my own "Oh, shit, not again!" reactions*. Strangely, none of that happened, which felt... surprising, and maybe a little good? But immediately on waking, I started wondering what that all meant, if it had any direct or veiled meaning. My head is its own weird trap sometimes.
*I used to have severe issues with UFO/abduction stuff. It's complicated.
