Mar. 15th, 2020 11:06 amHopefully people will land here as they attempt an exodus from the bad place, even if only partial. Maybe some online social good will come from more people being stuck at home, and having the time to actually use their computers rather than relying on an intrusive ZuckCo phone app.
I'm not sure how stressed to be about the pandemic yet. There's a point after which stress becomes useless, rather than a motivator. I've already set up a work desk, laid in some supplies (I'll need to get more, particularly on the cat front, and then there's booze), and done some cleaning, though it's never enough on the cleaning front. We have the beginnings of a plan to move J downstairs so she can do her thing while I work, and to keep the recommended 6 feet of distance (with her compromised immune system due to cancer treatment, it only seems prudent).
Statistically speaking, people I know will die because of coronavirus, or the healthcare backlog that prevents them from getting treatment. I don't know how to fully process that yet. If there is justice in the world, the mean part of my mind thinks, the virus would take out old racist white people first, and leave the rest of us alone. Sadly, I believe in a random, absurd universe.
