Please don't think I'm being specifically critical of your writing, because I'm not. I'm talking more about broad, general trends that feel like default settings, much/most of which I attribute to language, though I think those structures do permeate all too much of feminist thinking and writing *in general*, sometimes even painfully and overtly. Curiously (and this probably says more about me than anything else) the inclusivity of transsexuals (most generally it seems of the ftm flavor) only seems to heighten that feeling of alienation, as if once allowances are made for that difference, the system is shut and there are no other options.
