After at least one particularly avoidable air crash, the FAA started pushing the idea of "First and foremost, fly the plane. Deal with issues as they come up, but number one priority is to keep the plane in the air".
Dory in Finding Nemo has a similar philosophy, "keep on swimming".
So I think of 'doing nothing' as doing the bare minimum necessary to stay sane and alive. It can be amazing how hard it is to do that little.
Another thing I've found helpful to think about, is that I'm hardly the only one in an untenable situation, lots of folks out there are having the rug yanked from under them. That may not help in the short term, but if the whole world is changing, then I can't feel that bad if I guess wrong.
