My friends kick ass

Sometimes it's the most simple of things; hanging out in a noisy bar with friends and acquaintances feels almost numinous. The desire to be more scrutable hit a high point, though with the alchemical mix of many drinks. A good time, nonetheless.

I miss hanging out in bars with friends. I have placed the city of Atlanta on a pedestal because of my countless happy associations with bars and waffle houses. I am jealous of your bars and your happy moments. I hope you have many many more.

While I have absolutely no positive Waffle House memories (they have a penchant for servng me decaf coffee, which makes my brain misfire in very disturbing ways), bars are another matter. I vacillate between feeling like an embarassed junkie and the cultural inheritor of salon culture, but the appeal doesn't diminish.
