"Volitional, non-binding, non-binary, non-absolute gender" is, I think, the current goal.

Do a universal find/replace "gender"/"gender as generally implemented" and I think most of my writing/ranting tends to fall into line.

I particularly like the phrase 'non-absolute gender'. That has a very nice ring to it.
