Nefertiti has extreme kidney issues. She stayed overnight at an emergency animal clinic, and will stay through the weekend, just trying to get stabilized. Fairyhead has the enviable task of ferrying her between the emergency clinic and our standard vet today, and then back tonight. While she obviously felt awful, she would purr and try to chirp whenever we touched or petted her.

Three hours at the clinic, three hours of uneasy sleep. Today is going to be long.

Thirteen years is really a long time, and I got to be around for half of them. We loved her differently from the other cats, but even when she was whiny and annoying, we still loved her, and I really think she knew it.

Goodbye, sweet kittie. I'm going to miss you.
