Nov. 27th, 2005 10:45 pmI've realized this weekend that I have limits. Unfortunately, this realization came by exceeding them ever so slightly, and then whining about having to pay the physical tab. Not that I wouldn't have made the same choices in the same situation again, oh, no, but... I hate having limits, damn it.
We went to a local deli today to grab food (neither of us was up for cooking) and ran into a touch of weirdness. The person taking our order commented out of nowhere that fairyhead and I "could pass for brother(ugh) and sister". Sure, skiadaimonos has said similar things to us (without gender reference), but we just chalked it up to all us pasty white folks with blue eyes looking alike. Weird. But, if there's even a hint of truth to it, I suppose it balances my xenophilia a bit.
I had a chance to test my directional sense a bit this weekend, and it's nice to know I can still feel the tug of personal anchors, that can be verified to within a few degrees. That's a form of certainty I don't mind at all.
