It was a very mixed bag weekend. The integration of the three new monster babies to the West Tower household is going amazingly well, if only our sleek curmudgeon Spodgumine would get on the integration train. Yesterday was a day of amazing domestic productivity; I even braved the DeKalb Farmer's market at peak hours alone, and returned successful. Blueberry margaritas and El Santo on Saturday night rounded out the positive. If I had to generalize the negative, I'd say it had to do with not being heard (if I'm feeling generous) to being dismissed, disregarded and trivialized about things that matter quite a lot to me. All in all, more good than bad, I just wasn't prepared for the bad, or to my reactions to it.

There's something about this morning, particularly the smell and quality of light, that makes me think of summer camp, in the time in the morning before all the other campers were awake or alert and the pressures of the day started. I hadn't realized until now that I liked that, as I hated summer camp on the whole with a passion surprising in a pre-teen.
