Sep. 5th, 2006 09:40 amFairyhead very wisely sent me out Sunday night with the question, "Would it be worse to go and have it suck, or to stay home all night?" (I suspect there was an implicit request that I not stay in and grow increasingly frustrated and difficult to be around). I wanted to avoid the con directly, so as not to repeat the mental poisoning and antibody response of last year, and I managed to do so. I had dinner with misterrain, the obstinantly lj-less Anne and Erich, then met up with theinnocence to hang out and get some hot art properties. Aesthetic made a point of dropping by, even going so far as to take me up 30 floors to get free booze, and scottopic and skiadaimonos came by, offering very pleasant company and needed distraction.
To those I missed, my regrets; it was a weird, sad weekend. I'm grateful for seeing those I did encounter. I'm still trying to get a handle on this weird need for human contact, but this instance seemed to go well.
