Driving in to work today, I had Boys Keep Swinging stuck in my head.

My subconscious has a wicked sense of humor.

I have this nagging fear of intentionally limited horizons where you're concerned, and it troubles me. It's not that I think I know how you should live, but that I want you to have lots of options and the confidence to decide among them with an eye towards possibility and pleasure. I think about you a lot; I should probably work harder to make that known.

I can conceptualize costs by themselves, and benefits by themselves, but my mind balks at cost benefit analysis for fear of getting caught up in a reductionist zero sum construction that vanishes towards nothingness. I think my mind is defective.
