I want an out. I want a path, a door, a channel of clear water, a step between the hedges. I don't want an escape, because I don't want to leave, but I want something to take all the irreconcilable tension and make it... if not useful or beautiful or pleasant, at least bearable, navigable. I don't want to be the string that snaps. I want an out.

I've got vacation in three weeks, to the natural wilds of Kentucky, where my sweetie is from. I think this is the first time I can remember where I can say I need a vacation.
