compassionate drinking

I like drinking, and I'm not shy about admitting it. I also like talking to people, a lot. It's even better when the two are combined. I spend too much time staring at a computer screen, and not nearly enough time with real people, in a real environment. So, here's what I propose:
You and me, drinking in a bar (I also like bars, a lot). I imagine we'd talk about ourselves, ask questions about each other, and just try to relax into the groove of a couple of folks out drinking and talking. Think of it as an excuse to blame alcohol, if need be, for what gets said, but not as an excuse to be an asshole (that's where the compassion comes in).
This offer is open to anyone reading this (barring the misfortune of distance, in which case rainchecks will certainly be offered); all you have to do is say you're in, and you're in.
So, who's up for it?

Unrelatedly, I'm considering replacing all other honorifics (Ms, Mr, etc) with comrade. It satisfies and amuses me on several levels, but I'm not quite sure yet.

(i don't need an honorific... you can just use Suzanne... unless you would like to use, say, The Awesome)

i had a prof who constantly referred to his wife as, "my beloved colleague." it took us forever to realize he meant his wife. i love that honorific, and have deployed it on many an occasion.

No, wait, not really anytime. This weekend is out, and so is Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday. And also next weekend, for different reasons. And a few days here and there throughout the rest of February are taken already.
Crap. Can I check with my beloved colleague and get back to you? She knows when I'm free, even if I don't.
I vote wholeheartedly for the comrade thing. :)

Date: 2006-02-10 06:53 pm (UTC)I like how "Dude" is starting to be decoupled from gender role.
I think we have an unstated agreement where this just tends to happen perodically. It's been a while, though!
