It's absolutely beautiful outside today. The sliver of woods I walk in becomes even more breathtaking in the rain. The sounds of human activity are muffled and further away, wrapping my path and it's surroundings in a soft cocoon, a magical moment only experienced by me. The creek swells, and is more audible; it's liquid rustling sounds happy and energetic, but in a relaxed way. Paths seem more apparent between the underbrush, and everything seems to be about movement, passages, and invitations. My expectation to see figures step out from behind the sea of tree trunks up the hill is magnified, though I'm content to walk among the trees on my own, carefully stepping over saplings, brambles, and the shoots of random seeming bulbs, humming songs to myself and touching them at random. I like knowing that other people are near at hand, but like even better that this moment is shared only by me, the trees, the wind, and the water.
