One of the best things about being away from home for two days is that there's a lot of content to read on the internet from people whose content I care about. It's like an impressionistic montage just waiting for my enjoyment.
One of the hardest, and most surprising to me, is being away from the cats. I'd keep searching for them out of the corners of my eye, reaching for them when in bed, even lounging in such a way as to make room for them on the couch, and then realizing they aren't there. Luckily, on my return, all was forgiven, and there was no punishment from the fuzzy little bastards.
