The spectre of yesterdays 'migraine' lingers, and unfortunately, it's worse at work, where more rigid demands are made on my environment and attention. At home, fairyhead very kindly (and likely to her detriment) kept the windows open all night so I could access the air and hear the rain in my sleep, which always helps me reorient myself. At work, however, it's windows that don't open, blinds drawn, the barely noticeable vibrations of computer monitors and the attendant hum of machines, and the regular flickering of flourescent lighting; all of these things exacerbate the situation, which is most easily dealt with by immersing myself in the "organic" (for lack of a better term).
I've come armed with pseudoeffedriene, pain reliever, water and Icy Hot (for the knot that always forms on one side of my neck, at the base of my skull). With any luck, I'll be able to make it through the day without leaving early again. Though it's stupid, I don't want to be seen as unreliable, or to have made the commute this morning in the rain in vain. What I want to do, though, is sit in some covered area, open to the air, and soak in the soft, damp feel of the world today.

r. gets migraines too, sometimes. they seem horrid. he shuts down immediately, is nauseous the entire day, and spends the whole next day unable to do anything productive, feeling as if he were run over by a truck.
hope you feel better.
