The reason I like (semi-)digestible solvents is for what it does for me; they remove, to varying degrees, so much of the reactionary, customary defenses and the inertia that I semiknowingly carry about with me most every waking moment, and let me feel, if even for a limited time, more free, less shackled, both by myself and by expectations/roles (I acknowledge that most of that is self-imposed, but knowing feels like something less than half the battle).

However, as much as I like what they do for/to me, I like it more when they do it to others, particularly those closest and most beloved. Seeing the tell-tale relaxed brow, the sparkle in the eyes, the ever-present and ever-sincere smile fills me with something perilously close to joy, and gives me all sorts of hope; if it's there, only to be unlocked (in me and in others) by solvents, surely it can be accessed in other ways, more regularly, too.

The future has the potential to be quite rosy, I think.
